The Military History Museum was founded in 2001 by retired US Air Force and WWII Aviator Colonel Robert W. Powell, the museum brought together a small group of patriotic visionaries to ensure that the future of Oklahoma, both young & old, would understand and never forget the price of freedom. During a time when the burden of protecting our great nation continues to be carried by a smaller & smaller percentage of the population, there may soon come a day when most young families might never know a person in uniform.
The time to support and enhance the educational potential of our collection is NOW. By sharing this impressive collection with schools, community organizations and veteran's groups. The Military History Museum continues to promote patriotism and enrich the heritage of honor & pride in serving our country.
"We do not choose to glorify war, but to educate and celebrate the life of the uncommon man and woman in uniform. Our children need to touch the fabric of service and comprehend the nobility of sacrifice before that understanding is lost forever." (Colonel Robert W Powell USAF (Ret.)
